Dressings for burn wound: a review

Abid Noor et al.

Summary: Burn injuries are severe and debilitating, with high mortality and morbidity rates. Although the management of burns has improved with early wound excision and skin grafting, there are still major challenges in terms of skin damage, pain, infection, slow wound healing, fluid loss, bacterial infection, and selecting appropriate burn wound dressings. This review focuses on discussing the classifications, requirements, animal models, materials, and processes used in burn wound dressings.
