Relationship between 18F-FDG PET/CT Semi-Quantitative Parameters and International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, American Thoracic Society/European Respiratory Society Classification in Lung Adenocarcinomas

Lihong Bu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the relationship between 18F-FDG PET/CT semi-quantitative parameters and the International histopathologic classification of lung adenocarcinoma. The results showed that PET/CT parameters could serve as indicators for predicting tumor subtypes and Ki67 index, which are crucial for precise surgery and postoperative therapy.

Tissue Fraction Correction and Visual Analysis Increase Diagnostic Sensitivity in Predicting Malignancy of Ground-Glass Nodules on [18F]FDG PET/CT: A Bicenter Retrospective Study

Yun Hye Song et al.

Summary: This study investigated the role of [F-18]FDG positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) in evaluating ground-glass nodules (GGNs) by visual analysis and tissue fraction correction. The results showed that tissue fraction correction and visual analysis improved the diagnostic accuracy of [F-18]FDG PET/CT in predicting the malignancy of lung GGN.

Prone position [18F]FDG PET/CT to reduce respiratory motion artefacts in the evaluation of lung nodules

Hyung Ju Lee et al.

Summary: Prone position PET/CT is more valuable than standard supine position PET/CT in evaluating lung nodules, reducing respiratory motion artefacts and enabling more precise measurements of PET parameters.

Glycolysis on F-18 FDG PET/CT Is Superior to Amino Acid Metabolism on C-11 Methionine PET/CT in Identifying Advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma at Staging

Suk-Hyun Lee et al.

Summary: The heterogeneous uptake of both F-18 FDG and C-11 methionine on PET/CT in renal cell carcinomas is associated with higher grades of cancer. The metabolic tumour volume on F-18 FDG PET/CT but not C-11 methionine PET/CT is significant in predicting advanced-stage renal cell carcinoma. These metabolic features derived from PET/CT imaging may aid in the development of new drugs targeting glucose and amino acid metabolic pathways.

Summary: The study evaluated the value of F-18-FDG PET/CT for assessing disease severity and prognosis in IPF patients, finding that SUV parameters were correlated with clinical parameters like lung function and CRP level, and SUVR may be a better predictor compared to other SUV parameters.
