Simultaneously generating Bi quantum dot and oxygen vacancy on Bi2MoO6 nanosheets for boosting photocatalytic selective alcohol oxidation

Fengxia Xu et al.

Summary: Simultaneously generating Bi quantum dots and oxygen vacancies on Bi2MoO6 nanosheets through a hydrothermal combining post-reduction route has significantly enhanced the photocatalytic activity and reusability. The synergistic effect of oxygen vacancies and Bi quantum dots leads to a narrowed band gap, improved visible-light absorbance, and enhanced photocharge separation capability, contributing to the boosted photoactivity. Strong interaction between Bi quantum dots and Bi2MoO6 nanosheets inhibits structural collapse and leaching, demonstrating promising potential for sustainable organic synthesis.
