Pseudo-template molecularly imprinted polymeric fiber solid-phase microextraction coupled to gas chromatography for ultrasensitive determination of 2,4,6-trihalophenol disinfection by-products

Aimin Li et al.

Summary: In this study, two kinds of molecularly imprinted polymeric fibers were prepared for the determination of 2,4,6-trihalophenol disinfection by-products (DBPs) in water. The fibers showed selectivity towards 2,4,6-trihalophenol DBPs and achieved low detection limits. The method was successfully applied to environmental water analysis.

Facile copolymerization synthesis of vinylimidazole/dibromodecane/vinylpyridine polymer with high capacity for selective adsorption of nitrate from water

Wei Hu et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel polymer VDV with high nitrate adsorption capacity and selectivity was synthesized. The polymer demonstrated a maximum nitrate adsorption capacity that was significantly higher than other polymers tested, and it showed good performance in the presence of interfering anions such as sulfate. The adsorption process followed pseudo-second-order kinetics and the Freundlich model, indicating multilayer chemisorption. VDV also exhibited good reusability and excellent nitrate adsorption from real wastewaters, making it a promising candidate for nitrate removal from waters.

Adsorption of 4-chlorophenol by magnetized activated carbon from pomegranate husk using dual stage chemical activation

Sousan Hadi et al.

Summary: This study focused on the use of magnetized activated carbon pomegranate husk for the adsorption of 4-chlorophenol from synthetic wastewater. The results showed that adsorption efficiency was highly dependent on ionic strength, solution pH, and temperature, with equilibrium being reached in 60 minutes. Kinetic models and equilibrium isotherms were used to assess the adsorption data, with the Liu model showing the best fit and providing maximum adsorption capacities for different MPHAC concentrations.

Photo-switchable imprinted adsorbent towards a selective phenol recovery from wastewater

Lei Qin et al.

Summary: A novel surface imprinted adsorbent with UV-switchable wettability has been synthesized for efficient and highly selective phenol recovery from wastewater. The adsorbent demonstrates a superior adsorption capacity after UV irradiation and can be easily recovered by self-agglomeration and precipitation in the dark. Regenerated adsorbent maintains stable adsorption capacity over multiple cycles, making it a promising solution for phenol removal from wastewater.
