Calculation of Metallocene Ionization Potentials via Auxiliary FieldQuantum Monte Carlo: Toward Benchmark Quantum Chemistry forTransition Metals

Benjamin Rudshteyn et al.

Summary: This study compared different computational methods for predicting ionization energies of metallocene complexes and showed that the all-electron phaseless auxiliary-field quantum Monte Carlo (ph-AFQMC) method achieved higher accuracy in calculating ionization energies. This finding is important for research on transition metal complexes.

Fast non-iterative calculation of solvation energies for water and non-aqueous solvents

Sergei F. Vyboishchikov et al.

Summary: The uESE method proposed in the study for calculating solvation free energies showed excellent performance, with predicted solvation energies having a mean absolute error below 1 kcal/mol for neutral solutes and below 3 kcal/mol for ions. The calculated data were found to be almost independent of the quantum-chemical method or basis sets employed.

Summary: The study successfully predicted the properties of VCH2 and VCH3 using the CCSDTQ/CBS protocol, showing remarkable agreement with recent experimental data. This method can be applied in methane activation catalyzed by transition metal species.
