An updated review of the new hadron states

Hua-Xing Chen et al.

Summary: The past decades have seen significant advancements in hadron physics, particularly in the observation of excited open heavy flavor mesons and baryons since 2017. This review provides updated information on the recent experimental and theoretical developments in this field, including the observation of unconventional heavy hadrons, tetraquark states, and hidden heavy flavor multiquark states. Additionally, the review covers progress in understanding glueballs and light hybrid mesons, which are manifestations of the non-Abelian SU(3) gauge interaction in Quantum Chromodynamics at low energies.

S-wave fully charmed tetraquark resonant states

Guang-Juan Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, we calculate the mass spectrum of the S-wave fully-charmed tetraquark resonant states using the nonrelativistic quark model and identify the genuine resonances with the complex scaling technique. The results show the existence of two resonances in each J(PC) sector, and the higher resonances may be good candidates for the X(7200) state.

Diffusion Monte Carlo calculations of fully heavy compact hexaquarks

J. M. Alcaraz-Pelegrina et al.

Summary: A diffusion Monte Carlo technique was used to describe fully heavy compact arrangements in a constituent quark model. The masses of the six-quark arrangements were found to be larger than the sums of any of the two baryons they can be split into, but smaller than the masses for a set of six isolated quarks, indicating that they are bound systems. The analysis showed that all the hexaquarks considered in this study are compact objects, except for cccbbb, which appears to be a loose association of two baryons for all possible spin values.

X(3872)'s excitation and its connection with production at hadron colliders

M. C. Gordillo et al.

Summary: The LHCb collaboration has found that the production rate of X(3872) decreases as final state particle multiplicity increases in proton-proton collisions. The ALICE experiment at CERN has observed that the number of deuterons produced increases with multiplicity. Researchers have used a diffusion Monte Carlo method to analyze the structure of X(3872) and found that it resembles a light-meson-heavy-meson molecule. They have also computed the mass of the first color excited cc over bar qq over bar tetraquark state and found it to be around 4.0 GeV, a region where many new exotic candidates have been collected.

Hyperspherical variables analysis of lattice QCD three-quark potentials: skewed Y-string as the mechanism of confinement?

James Leech et al.

Summary: The study re-analyzed lattice QCD calculations of 3-quark potentials and found two common 3-quark geometries between the two sets of lattice results. The deviations from smooth curves were observed to be larger and extend further in the triangle shape space in one dataset compared to the other. The benchmark result passed between the Y- and Delta-string predictions, excluding both, and indicated qualitative agreement with the calculations of color flux density by another study.

Lattice QCD study of the elastic and transition form factors of charmed baryons

K. U. Can

Summary: The composite nature of particles can be probed by electromagnetic interactions, with information embedded in form factors. While most work has focused on nucleons, upcoming experiments are expected to provide more data on charmed baryons. Lattice QCD calculations show that charmed baryons are compact and have suppressed magnetic moments, with results aligned with qualitative expectations but showing quantitative differences in some cases.

Structure of the X(3872) as explained by a diffusion Monte Carlo calculation

M. C. Gordillo et al.

Summary: Two decades after its discovery, the nature of the X(3872) exotic resonance remains under scrutiny, with recent research suggesting a meson-meson molecular configuration as preferred, contrary to the usual assumption of a D-0(D) over bar*(0) molecule.
