Towards a theory of hadron resonances

Maxim Mai et al.

Summary: In this review, the current understanding of the excited strongly interacting particle spectrum is presented. The systematic and model-independent calculation methods, namely lattice QCD and effective field theories, are discussed. The synergies between these approaches can provide a deeper understanding of the hadron spectrum. The use of the Breit-Wigner parametrization is shown to be inconsistent with chiral symmetry and should be avoided in strongly coupled channels.

An updated review of the new hadron states

Hua-Xing Chen et al.

Summary: The past decades have seen significant advancements in hadron physics, particularly in the observation of excited open heavy flavor mesons and baryons since 2017. This review provides updated information on the recent experimental and theoretical developments in this field, including the observation of unconventional heavy hadrons, tetraquark states, and hidden heavy flavor multiquark states. Additionally, the review covers progress in understanding glueballs and light hybrid mesons, which are manifestations of the non-Abelian SU(3) gauge interaction in Quantum Chromodynamics at low energies.

Can we understand the decay width of the Tcc+ state?

Xi-Zhe Ling et al.

Summary: Inspired by the recent discovery of a doubly charmed tetraquark state T-cc(+) by the LHCb Collaboration, this study investigates the decay width of T-cc(+) using the effective Lagrangian approach and assumes it to be an isoscalar DD* molecule. The results show that both T-cc -> DD pi and T-cc -> DD gamma contribute to the decay width, with the former being dominant.

Exotic molecular meson states of B(*) K(*) nature

E. Oset et al.

Summary: This study theoretically evaluates the interaction between open bottom and strange systems, aiming to find bound states that could correspond to exotic non-quark-antiquark mesons. The s-wave scattering matrix is calculated using the Bethe-Salpeter equation with potential kernels derived from contact and vector meson exchange mechanisms. Poles below the respective thresholds for isospin 0 interaction are found, and the widths of the obtained states are evaluated by considering various sources of imaginary parts.

Masses and widths of the exotic molecular B(s)(*)B(s)(*) states

L. R. Dai et al.

Summary: This study investigates the interaction between doubly bottom systems using vector meson exchange and Lagrangians derived from an extension of the local hidden gauge approach. The full s-wave scattering matrix is calculated using the Bethe-Salpeter equation and unitarity in coupled channels. Poles are found below channel thresholds for several attractive interacting channels, and the widths are evaluated by identifying the dominant source of imaginary part. The results show binding energies of around 10-20 MeV and varying widths for different systems.

Summary: In this study, the interpolating currents and decay constants of D(*())(D) over bar (()*()), D-(*())(K) over bar (()*()), and D-(*D-)(s)(*()-) hadronic molecular states were calculated using QCD sum rules. The relative production rates in B and B* decays and relative branching ratios were then calculated through current algebra and Fierz rearrangement.

Observation of a Near-Threshold Structure in the K+ Recoil-Mass Spectra in e+ e- → K+ (Ds- D*0 + Ds* - D0)

M. Ablikim et al.

Summary: In this study, an excess of events near the D-s(-) D*(0) and D-s*(-) D-0 mass thresholds was observed in the K+ recoil-mass spectrum at a center-of-mass energy of 4.681 GeV. A resonance hypothesis with a charged hidden-charm tetraquark decaying into D-s(-) D*(0) and D-s*(-) D-0 was proposed based on the observed structure, but further exploration with more statistics is needed to verify its properties.

Explaining the Many Threshold Structures in the Heavy-Quark Hadron Spectrum

Xiang-Kun Dong et al.

Summary: Significant progress has been made experimentally in the hadron spectrum containing heavy quarks in the last two decades, with many resonant structures observed around thresholds of heavy hadrons. By constructing a nonrelativistic effective field theory with open channels, the authors discuss the generalities of threshold behavior and explain the abundance of near-threshold peaks in the heavy quarkonium regime, emphasizing that the threshold cusp can show up as a peak only for channels with attractive interaction.

What can we learn about light-meson interactions at electron-positron colliders?

Shuang-shi Fang et al.

Insights into the emergence of mass from studies of pion and kaon structure

Craig D. Roberts et al.

Summary: In the standard model of particle physics, there are two mass generating mechanisms: one related to the Higgs boson which is well understood, and the other embedded in quantum chromodynamics responsible for the emergence of hadronic mass, which remains puzzling. Recent progress has been made using theoretical tools like continuum Schwinger function methods and lattice-regularised QCD to understand these mechanisms better and shed light on Nature's Nambu-Goldstone modes. New experimental facilities are expected to contribute greatly in resolving the puzzles of emergent hadronic mass.

D0D0 π+ mass distribution in the production of the Tcc exotic state

A. Feijoo et al.

Summary: In this study, a unitary coupled channel analysis was performed on the interaction of the D*D-+(0), D*D-0(+) channels, revealing a state that is barely bound and very close to isospin I = 0. Using experimental data as input, the width of the state and the (DD0π-)-D0+ mass distribution were obtained, showing good agreement with results from other data analyses. When considering experimental resolution, the width of the state was found to be about 43 keV, a significant difference from the initial findings.
