Energy and delay efficient data acquisition in wireless sensor networks by selecting optimal visiting points for mobile sink

Rahul Kumar Verma et al.

Summary: This paper proposes an energy and delay efficient data acquisition technique named EDEDA in WSNs, which optimizes energy consumption and delay by dividing the sensor field into virtual grids and designing the trajectory path for the mobile sink at visiting points. Simulation results show that EDEDA outperforms existing routing protocols in terms of energy consumption, throughput, and data acquisition latency for varying numbers of sensor nodes.

EDVWDD: Event-Driven Virtual Wheel-based Data Dissemination for Mobile Sink-Enabled Wireless Sensor Networks

Shubhra Jain et al.

Summary: The paper proposes an event-driven virtual wheel-based data dissemination (EDVWDD) scheme to reduce the cost of updating the mobile sink location by constructing multiple wheels in the sensor field, and provides easy-accessibility of wheel to each sensor node to reduce data transmission delay. Simulation results show improved performance of EDVWDD in terms of energy consumption and data delivery delay compared to state-of-the-art mechanisms at varying node density and sink speed.

NHCDRA: a non-uniform hierarchical clustering with dynamic route adjustment for mobile sink based heterogeneous wireless sensor networks

Shushant Kumar Jain et al.

Summary: In this paper, a novel non-uniform hierarchical clustering with dynamic route adjustment scheme NHCDRA is proposed for heterogeneous WSNs. NHCDRA divides the sensor field into several non-uniform sized hierarchical clusters and defines dynamic route adjustment rules to manage the routing paths as a consequence of mobility of the sinks, significantly reducing data delivery delay and improving network lifetime compared to state-of-the-art solutions.
