Quantum Fisher information measurement and verification of the quantum Cramer-Rao bound in a solid-state qubit

Min Yu et al.

Summary: This study experimentally demonstrates near saturation of the quantum Cramer-Rao bound in phase estimation of a solid-state spin system. By comparing the experimental uncertainty in phase estimation with the related quantum Fisher information, the researchers provide evidence for the accuracy limit set by the Cramer-Rao bound. This method offers a versatile and powerful tool to explore the Cramer-Rao bound and quantum Fisher information in systems of higher complexity.

QuanEstimation: An open-source toolkit for quantum parameter estimation

Mao Zhang et al.

Summary: Quantum parameter estimation promises high precision measurement in theory, but designing the optimal scheme in a specific scenario remains a serious problem. To address this issue, we present an open-source toolkit with various mathematical bounds and optimization methods to assist in scheme design.

Extracting non-Abelian quantum metric tensor and its related Chern numbers

Hai-Tao Ding et al.

Summary: In this study, a generic protocol for extracting the non-Abelian quantum metric tensor in degenerate quantum states is proposed based on measuring transition probabilities after parameter quenches. The non-Abelian quantum metric is measured to obtain the Chern numbers of generalized Dirac monopoles and Yang monopoles, which can be simulated in three- and five-dimensional parameter spaces of artificial quantum systems, respectively. Numerical simulations demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed scheme.

Quantum Fisher Information from Randomized Measurements

Aniket Rath et al.

Summary: The quantum Fisher information (QFI) is a fundamental quantity used in various fields, and in this work, lower bounds for QFI are constructed using polynomials of the density matrix. A protocol for accurately estimating these bounds in quantum technological platforms is proposed, with the number of measurements needed and two examples of its applications in quantum systems discussed.

Easy Access to Energy Fluctuations in Nonequilibrium Quantum Many-Body Systems

Marcela Herrera et al.

Summary: The method proposed in this study combines theoretical and experimental efforts to investigate energy fluctuations in many-body quantum systems driven out of equilibrium. By using simple measurements and numerical optimizations, transition probabilities can be obtained and experimentally verified in a two-spin system setup. The detailed fluctuation theorem can be validated through recovering transition probabilities using local measures.

End-point measurement approach to assess quantum coherence in energy fluctuations

S. Gherardini et al.

Summary: We discuss the role of quantum coherence in the energy fluctuations of open quantum systems and introduce an end-point measurement scheme to define the statistics of energy changes. This approach prevents the loss of initial quantum coherences and enables the estimation of their effects on energy fluctuations, as demonstrated through an experiment on the IBM Quantum Experience platform.

Experimental estimation of the quantum Fisher information from randomized measurements

Min Yu et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates an experimental method using randomized measurements to extract the quantum Fisher information and successfully applies it to a 4-qubit state. The results show that this method has advantages in estimating QFI and multipartite entanglement, and is applicable to different quantum platforms.
