Quality of life in patients with glioblastoma and their relatives

Pernilla Stahl et al.

Summary: The study aimed to compare the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and psychological symptoms between patients with glioblastoma and their relatives, as well as HRQoL between patients and a general population. The results showed that relatives had lower HRQoL and higher anxiety symptoms, while patients scored worse in the physical aspects of HRQoL. Both patients and relatives showed deterioration in HRQoL.

CBTRUS Statistical Report: Primary Brain and Other Central Nervous System Tumors Diagnosed in the United States in 2015-2019

Quinn T. Ostrom et al.

Summary: The report provides the latest data on primary brain tumors in the United States, including incidence rates, mortality rates, and relative survival rates. The overall incidence rate is higher in females and non-Hispanic population, and glioblastoma is the most common malignant brain tumor, while meningioma is the most common non-malignant brain tumor. The relative survival rate is lower for malignant brain tumors and higher for non-malignant brain tumors.

Targeting post-translational histone modifying enzymes in glioblastoma

Elena Kunadis et al.

Summary: Glioblastoma is the most common primary brain tumor in adults, characterized by variable histopathology, aggressiveness, and poor clinical outcomes. Epigenetic modifications play a crucial role in GBM research, providing a potential for tumor classification and prognosis, as well as for drug targeting. Recent advances in glioma epigenetic research focus on histone modifications and the use of epigenetic therapy as a valid treatment option for glioblastoma.
