A REM Update Methodology Based on Clustering and Random Forest

Mario R. R. Camana et al.

Summary: In this paper, a radio environment map (REM) update methodology based on clustering and machine learning is proposed for indoor coverage. Real measurements collected by the TurtleBot3 mobile robot using the received signal strength indicator (RSSI) are used to evaluate the link quality. The proposed approach addresses the challenges in dynamic wireless communication environments by timely updating the REM and considering variations in physical element distributions, environmental factors, and movements of people and devices. The simulation results demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed scheme compared to other machine learning algorithms and a baseline scheme without clustering.

A New Method of Time-Series Event Prediction Based on Sequence Labeling

Zihan Zhong et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a new framework for time-series event prediction, which transforms the prediction problem into a labeling problem to capture the timing relationship between subsequence sets. The framework utilizes a sequence clustering algorithm to identify representative patterns, and uses XGBoost for feature selection. The preliminary prediction value is obtained using LSTM, and further refined using CRF. Experimental results show that this method improves prediction accuracy compared to other models.

Development of a Multilayer Perceptron Neural Network for Optimal Predictive Modeling in Urban Microcellular Radio Environments

Joseph Isabona et al.

Summary: Advanced non-linear models are needed for more accurate predictive path loss estimation in wireless cellular networks, particularly for complex microcellular environments. The precision of conventional linear models for path loss prediction has been reported to have errors ranging from 8-12 dB, which is too high compared to the acceptable error limit between 0 and 6 dB. Machine learning-based path loss prediction models are imperative for optimal network performance.
