Green and environmentally sustainable fabrication of SnS2 quantum dots/chitosan nanocomposite for enhanced photocatalytic performance: Effect of process variables, and water matrices

Vishal Gadore et al.

Summary: In this study, novel SnS2 quantum dots (QDs) deposited on chitosan were synthesized via a green precipitation method using neem leaf extract, and their photocatalytic performance for the degradation of Crystal violet (CV) dye was investigated. The crystal structure, surface morphology, and elemental composition of the prepared SnS2 (QDs)/Ch composite were evaluated, and its outstanding photocatalytic activity for CV degradation was demonstrated through the Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP). The fabricated photocatalyst exhibited high stability and reusability, making it a promising visible light-active nano-photocatalyst.

Facile synthesis of highly efficient Co@ZnSQDs/g-C3N4/MWCNT nanocomposites and their photocatalytic potential for the degradation of RhB dye: Efficiency, degradation kinetics, and mechanism pathway

Mohtaram Danish et al.

Summary: The modification of graphitic carbon nitride with Co-doped zinc sulfide quantum dots and multiwalled carbon nanotubes significantly enhanced the photodegradation performance of rhodamine B in aqueous suspension under visible light. The novel ternary nanocomposites Co@ZnSQDs/g-C3N4/MWCNT with different mass ratios were successfully synthesized, showing improved photocatalytic activity due to the formation of strong heterojunction, proficient absorption of visible light, enlarged specific surface area, and efficient separation of electron-hole pairs. Additionally, the enhanced photo mineralization of paracetamol was observed over the most active Co-ZGM nanocomposite, highlighting the potential of these materials for environmental pollutant degradation.
