An electrochemical biosensor for detecting DNA methylation based on AuNPs/rGO/g-C3N4 nanocomposite

Junming Bao et al.

Summary: DNA methylation plays a crucial role in cell proliferation and differentiation, and aberrant methylation is associated with disease incidence, particularly in tumor development. In this study, we propose an alternative approach for detecting DNA methylation using a biosensor composed of gold nanoparticles, reduced graphene oxide, and graphite carbon nitride. The biosensor can accurately detect methylated DNA fragments and show high sensitivity, specificity, and anti-disturbing ability.

Electrospun tannin-rich nanofibrous solid-state membrane for wastewater environmental monitoring and remediation

Zahid Hussain et al.

Summary: A tannin-reinforced nanofibrous membrane was fabricated via electrospinning, which showed superior thermal and mechanical properties. The membrane changed color in response to Fe3+ ions and exhibited a linear relationship with Fe3+ ion concentration. It also had a high adsorption capacity for methylene blue and could capture bacteria bound to Fe3+ ions.

Construction of an Enzyme-Free Initiator-Replicated Hybridization Chain Reaction Circuit for Amplified Methyltransferase Evaluation and Inhibitor Assay

Jinhua Shang et al.

Summary: The autonomously initiator-replicated HCR (IR-HCR) was developed as a versatile amplification system for detecting MTase with similar to 100-fold sensitivity of the conventional HCR system. By assembling DNAzymes to cleave substrates and replicating new initiators for motivating the initial HCR circuit, a high FRET signal output is achieved.

Pickering Emulsion Stabilized by Metal-Phenolic Architectures: A Straightforward In Situ Assembly Strategy

Di Wu et al.

Summary: The study utilized metal-phenolic supramolecular architecture to stabilize emulsion systems by directly absorbing and crosslinking on the surfaces of oil drops, with the properties of the emulsions being tuned by controlling the types and concentrations of polyphenols as well as the ratios of polyphenols to metal ions. Increasing concentrations or ratios of Fe3+ to polyphenols resulted in enhanced adsorption on the oil droplet surface, leading to improved emulsion stability.
