The increasing proportion of renewable energy poses challenges to power grid in ensuring power supply. A large-scale ice-storage-based district cooling system and run-of-river hydropower can effectively reduce electricity load during peak periods. This paper establishes an integrated electricity and heat dispatch model considering ice storage systems and run-of-river hydropower, and analyzes the power supply ensuring effects of the combined systems under different operation strategies. Furthermore, multi-agent economic analyses are conducted to evaluate investments in ice storage equipment by cooling users, power grid, or third-party.
The power grid faces the power supply ensuring challenges with the increasing proportion of the renewable energy. A system that includes a large-scale ice-storage-based district cooling system and run-of-river hydropower can effectively reduce electricity load during the on-peak period. This paper contributes to establish an integrated electricity and heat dispatch model considering the ice storage systems and the run-of-over hydropower. The power supply ensuring effects of the combined systems are analyzed under the ice storage melting-priori, chiller-prior and the integrated operation strategies. Besides, the multi-agent economic analyses are conducted based zero-sum theory when the cooling users, the power grid (including the power plants) or the third-party respectively invests the ice storage equipment.
