Plasmonic Ag modified Ag3VO4/AgPMo S-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst for boosted Cr(VI) reduction under visible light: Performance and mechanism

Hao Du et al.

Summary: This study developed Ag@Ag3VO4/AgPMo heterojunctions as efficient photocatalysts for the reduction of Cr(VI). The S-scheme heterostructure exhibited superior performance and stability due to the synergy of the surface plasmon resonance effect of Ag and the S-scheme configuration. The proposed photoreduction mechanism demonstrated extended light absorption range and efficient separation and migration of photo-induced electron-hole pairs. This work not only provides a highly active catalytic system for light-driven environmental applications, but also paves the way for the construction of S-scheme heterojunction photocatalysts.

Fabrication of CN75/NH2-MIL-53(Fe) p-n heterojunction with wide spectral response for efficiently photocatalytic Cr(VI) reduction

Kejie Zhang et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that the p-n heterojunction formed by loading CN75 onto NH2-MIL-53(Fe) effectively enhanced the separation, migration, and transfer of photo-induced carriers, as well as broadened the spectral response for improved photocatalytic performance. Additionally, the CN75/NH2-MIL-53(Fe) showed significantly higher reduction rate for Cr(VI) under visible light and maintained stability after multiple cycles, indicating its potential as an efficient and steady Fe-MOFs based photocatalyst for environmental remediation.

Substituent engineering in g-C3N4/COF heterojunctions for rapid charge separation and high photo-redox activity

Jiayun Guo et al.

Summary: This study explores the potential of heterojunctions consisting of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with adjustable structures and other photocatalysts in the field of photocatalysis. The authors fabricate TPB-TP-COFs with different substituents (-H, -OH, -OCH3, -Br, and -F groups) and demonstrate that only the -OCH3 groups significantly enhance the photocatalytic performance. DFT calculation further reveals the impact of substituents on electron cloud distribution and charge transport. This research highlights the importance of regulating the electronic effects of semiconductors in improving photocatalytic performance in organic heterojunctions.
