Early adoption of proper preventative behaviors can significantly reduce the prevalence of skin cancer. This study aimed to assess the impact of various informational, economic, and environmental interventions on sun-protective behaviors, knowledge, attitudes, and sun exposure in children, based on previous research studies.

Indoor Versus Outdoor: Does Occupational Sunlight Exposure Increase Melanoma Risk? A Systematic Review

Summary: This article critically evaluates the relationship between chronic occupational exposure to sunlight and the risk of developing cutaneous melanoma. A total of 14 articles were analyzed, and results showed no difference in the likelihood of developing melanoma between outdoor and indoor occupation groups. Summary: Individuals can reduce the risk of skin cancer by minimizing UV sunlight exposure, and recent trends in sun-protective behaviors were investigated. The study analyzed data from the National Health Interview Survey conducted in 2010, 2015, and 2020, and found that US adults had increased the prevalence of sun-protective behaviors and decreased sun avoidance over time. However, disparities in sun-protective behaviors exist among different demographic groups.

Population-Based Study Detailing Cutaneous Melanoma Incidence and Mortality Trends in Canada

Summary: This population-based study reveals that while the incidence of melanoma is increasing in Canada, mortality rates have decreased since 2013. We provide detailed distribution of this cancer across regions, highlighting communities in southern and coastal areas as most at risk, as well as the latest trends in melanoma incidence by age, sex, and anatomical site. Males tend to have more melanoma on the head and trunk, while females tend to have more melanoma on the extremities. Acral Lentiginous Melanoma is the only subtype more common in females, primarily affecting the hands and feet.

The impact of skin cancer prevention efforts in New South Wales, Australia: Generational trends in melanoma incidence and mortality
