Suspension electrolyte with modified Li+ solvation environment for lithium metal batteries

Summary: Designing a suspension electrolyte that modifies the Li+ solvation environment and creates inorganic-rich solid-electrolyte interphases on a Li anode has been achieved in this study. By investigating Li2O nanoparticles suspended in liquid electrolytes, the roles of Li2O in the electrolyte and interphases have been elucidated. The application of the suspension electrolyte design in conventional and advanced electrolytes has demonstrated improved performance and stability.

High area capacity and dendrite-free anode constructed by highly potassiophilic Pd/Cu current collector for low-temperature potassium metal battery

Summary: In this study, a K/Pd/Cu foam anode material with highly potassiophilic interface was prepared for KMB by coating a layer of Pd on the surface of Cu foam. Experimental results showed that this material can significantly reduce dendrite growth, enhance K+ ion diffusion within the solid electrolyte interface, and reduce side reactions.

Highly Potassiophilic Carbon Nanofiber Paper Derived from Bacterial Cellulose Enables Ultra-Stable Dendrite-Free Potassium Metal Anodes

Summary: A highly potassiophilic carbon nanofiber paper was successfully fabricated through a facile, scalable, and environmentally-friendly biosynthesis method, serving as an excellent host for K metal anodes. The uniform K nucleation and stable plating/stripping performance of this carbon nanofiber paper led to a stable cycling of 1400 h and a low overpotential of 45 mV, outperforming other carbon hosts without complicated structure engineering. This research provides a promising approach for realizing dendrite-free K metal anodes and high-performance potassium-ion batteries.

Key Features of Polyimide-Derived Carbon Molecular Sieves
