Outstanding anti-corrosion performance of two pyrazole derivatives on carbon steel in acidic medium: Experimental and quantum-chemical examinations

G. Laadam et al.

Summary: The corrosion inhibition performance of two pyrazole derivatives, namely N-((1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methyl)pyri midin-2-amine (PPA) and 2-(((1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methyl)amino)benzoic acid (PMB), was assessed on carbon steel (CS) in 1 M HCl medium using various techniques. The results showed that the inhibition efficiencies increased with the concentration of inhibitor but decreased with temperature. PPA exhibited anodic behavior while PMB showed mixed behavior. The adsorption of inhibitor molecules on the CS surface led to an increase in charge transfer resistance. The formation of an adsorption-related protective inhibitor film was observed through SEM-EDX analysis. Theoretical studies using DFT and MDS supported the experimental findings.

New In Situ Catalysts Based on Nitro Functional Pyrazole Derivatives and Copper (II) Salts for Promoting Oxidation of Catechol to o-Quinone

Abderrahim Titi et al.

Summary: In this study, new substituted ligands based on pyrazole (L-1-L-4) were synthesized via a one-step condensation reaction. These ligands formed in situ complexes with various copper (II) salts, and catalyzed the oxidation of catechol to o-quinone. The catalytic activity depended on the ligand, counterion, and solvent. The complex formed by L-2 and Cu(CH3COO)(2) exhibited the highest catalytic activity in methanol.

Experimental and theoretical study for removal of trimethoprim from wastewater using organically modified silica with pyrazole-3-carbaldehyde bridged to copper ions

Shehdeh Jodeh et al.

Summary: SiNP-Cu, a chelating matrix, was used to efficiently remove TMP from wastewater, with a better fit to the Freundlich model. The removal capacity was pH-dependent, with higher pH values resulting in higher removal rates. Thermodynamic analysis indicated that the adsorption process was endothermic, increased randomness, and not spontaneous. DFT B3LYP/6-31+g (d, p) local reactivity descriptors showed that the nitrogen atoms and pi-electrons of the benzene and pyrimidine rings were responsible for the adsorption process with the SiNP surface.

Mesoporous Silica Modified with 2-Phenylimidazo[1,2-a] pyridine-3-carbaldehyde as an Effective Adsorbent for Cu(II) from Aqueous Solutions: A Combined Experimental and Theoretical Study

Rafik Saddik et al.

Summary: In this study, a highly efficient and selective silica-based adsorbent was developed for the removal of Cu(II) ions from aqueous solutions. The adsorbent showed excellent selectivity and high adsorption capacity, outperforming other similar adsorbents currently published. The adsorption mechanism, thermodynamics, reusability, and the effects of various experimental conditions were investigated. Theoretical studies were also conducted to understand the adsorption mechanism and the nature of the bonds formed.

Anti-corrosion performance of novel pyrazole derivative for carbon steel corrosion in 1 M HCl: Computational and experimental studies

G. Laadam et al.

Summary: The synthesized EMPC was found to have a significant inhibitive effect on the corrosion of carbon steel in hydrochloric acid solution, with the inhibition efficiency increasing with inhibitor concentration but decreasing with temperature. Experimental results and analysis showed that higher concentrations of EMPC led to higher inhibition efficiency, maxing out at 92% at 303K.

Abderrahim Titi et al.

Summary: Nowadays, there is increasing interest in the facile and short synthesis of new antifungal pyrazole-derivatives ligands due to their simplicity and effectiveness. In this study, a new family of pyrazole compounds was prepared in one step and evaluated for their antifungal properties. The results showed that several compounds exhibited significant antifungal activity, and there was good agreement between the experimental and theoretical findings.

Taibi Ben Hadda et al.

Summary: This study focused on investigating the structural parameters and physico-chemical properties of 22 compounds with antiviral/antitumor/antibacterial potential. A computational model was used to identify the key physico-chemical parameters governing the bioactivity of these compounds, and molecular docking studies were conducted with HIV-1 integrase to analyze interactions at the binding site. The results highlighted the importance of oxygen atoms and electrophilic amide nitrogen atoms in forming interactions, and the activity enhancement of certain compounds was attributed to intra-molecular charge transfer.

Summary: In this study, the molecular structure, electronic spectra, and exo-endo isomerization of (1E,2E)-bis[1-(4-nitrophenyl)ethylidene]hydrazine were investigated using experimental and theoretical methods. The interactions and synthon formations of the compound were determined, and the potential applications in DSSC were explored through UV-Vis and emission spectra analysis. The endo isomer was found to be slightly more stable than the exo one, with an estimated activation barrier of 110.5 kJ/mol.
