Tunable broadband near-infrared emission in LiScO2:Cr3+phosphor induced by the variation of chromium ion concentration

Summary: In this work, a tunable broadband NIR phosphor LiScO2:Cr3+ was reported, which exhibited a significant red-shift of emission spectrum by increasing Cr3+ concentration. The emission peak ranged from 807 to 870 nm with a full width at half maximum of 165 nm when excited by 450 nm. The mechanism of tunable emission induced by Cr3+ concentration was investigated through the study of electronic properties, site occupation, local structure, and behavior of Cr3+ ions.

A reliable and stable ratiometric luminescence thermometer based on dual near-infrared emission in a Cr3+-doped LaSr2Ga11O20 phosphor

Summary: Near-infrared phosphors have gained significant attention for their unique and versatile luminescence properties as well as their potential applications. In this study, a novel broadband emission NIR phosphor Sr7NaGa(PO4)(6):Cr3+ was successfully synthesized and its photoluminescence properties were investigated. Co-doping with Ln(3+) ions enhanced the photoluminescence. The as-prepared NIR phosphors showed potential for multifunctional applications such as night vision, solar cells, and ratiometric luminescent thermometers.

LiBAlF6:Cr3+ (B = Ca, Sr) fluoride phosphors with ultra-broad near-infrared emission for NIR pc-LEDs

LiCaAlF6:Cr3+ and LiSrAlF6:Cr3+ have great potential applications in infrared inspection, with the ability to detect internal bruises in apples and water levels behind bottle trademarks.

A comparison research on replacements of Ba2+ by Lu3+ and Ba2+-Si4+ by Lu3+-Al3+ in BaSi2O2N2:Eu phosphors

The packaged NIR pc-LEDs demonstrated an output power of 149 mW and a photoelectric conversion efficiency of 14.3% at 350 mA, with clear images of blood vessel distribution obtained under NIR light irradiation, indicating great potential in the biomedical field.
