Spectral features of polaronic excitations in a superconducting analog simulator

Julian K. Nauth et al.

Summary: We investigate the spectral properties of polaronic excitations within the framework of an analog quantum simulator based on superconducting transmon qubits and microwave resonators. By using the kernel-polynomial method, we evaluate the momentum-frequency resolved spectral function of this system and make predictions about the system dynamics following an excitation-phonon interaction quench. To make contact with anticipated experimental realizations, we utilize a previously proposed method for extracting dynamical-response functions in systems with local (single-qubit) addressability using the multiqubit (many-body) version of the Ramsey interference protocol.

Generation of long-lived W states via reservoir engineering in dissipatively coupled systems

Guo-Qiang Zhang et al.

Summary: Recently, dissipative coupling was discovered, which provides new methods for controlling and utilizing light-matter interactions. In this study, we propose a scheme to generate the tripartite W state in a dissipatively coupled system, where one qubit and two resonators simultaneously interact with a common reservoir. By driving the qubit, the system evolves from the ground state to the tripartite W state, which has a long lifetime due to decoupling from the reservoir. This scheme is applicable to a wide range of dissipatively coupled systems and can be specifically applied to a hybrid qubit-photon-magnon system.

Generation of Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger States on Two-Dimensional Superconducting-Qubit Lattices via Parallel Multiqubit-Gate Operations

Wei Feng et al.

Summary: The researchers propose a protocol to generate Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states on 2D superconducting-qubit lattices by applying multiqubit controlled-iSWAP gates in parallel. They simulate the preparation process with realistic parameters and show that a 37-qubit GHZ state can be generated using a controlled-iSWAP depth of 3. This method provides a more promising way to generate GHZ states on the latest 2D superconducting-qubit architectures.

Coherent Atom Transport via Enhanced Shortcuts to Adiabaticity: Double-Well Optical Lattice

Sascha H. Hauck et al.

Summary: Theoretical studies of coherent atom transport have mainly focused on one-dimensional model systems, but this study investigates this phenomenon under more complex physical circumstances. The study proposes specific configurations of acousto-optic modulators to create a moving lattice effect and determine moving-lattice trajectories for single-atom transport. Two quantum-control methods, shortcuts to adiabaticity and enhanced STA, are utilized and compared for their transport efficiency. The study has direct implications for quantum technology applications involving neutral atoms.

Quantum-brachistochrone approach to the conversion from W to Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states for Rydberg-atom qubits

Julian K. Nauth et al.

Summary: Using the quantum-brachistochrone formalism, this study addresses the problem of finding the fastest possible conversion between W and GHZ states in a system of three identical neutral atoms. By numerically solving equations, the time-dependent Rabi frequencies for external laser pulses corresponding to the time-optimal state conversion are determined.

Dynamical generation of chiral W and Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states in laser-controlled Rydberg-atom trimers

Thorsten Haase et al.

Summary: Motivated by the improved scalability of optically trapped neutral-atom systems, this study investigates the engineering of generalized (twisted) W states and GHZ states in a strongly interacting regime. The results demonstrate the realization of chiral W states and deterministic conversion from twisted W states to GHZ states, which is significant for noiseless-subsystem qubit encoding.

One-Photon Solutions to the Multiqubit Multimode Quantum Rabi Model for Fast W-State Generation

Jie Peng et al.

Summary: General solutions to the quantum Rabi model involve subspaces with an unbounded number of photons. However, we have found special solutions for the multiqubit multimode case, with at most one photon and applicable to an arbitrary number of qubits and photon modes. Taking advantage of their peculiarities and the reach of the ultrastrong coupling regime, we propose an adiabatic scheme for the fast and deterministic generation of a two-qubit Bell state and arbitrary single-photon multimode W states with nonadiabatic error less than 1%.

Creation of quantum entangled states of Rydberg atoms via chirped adiabatic passage

Elliot Pachniak et al.

Summary: This paper presents a robust quantum control methodology to create entangled states of two typical classes, the W and the GHZ, based on the interaction of a chain of 87Rb alkali atoms with laser pulses. The methodology is developed from the analysis of two-photon transitions from the ground to Rydberg states and is governed by the Rabi frequency, one-photon detuning, and Rydberg-Rydberg interactions. The method is adiabatic for the GHZ state and non-adiabatic for the W state, induced by overlapping chirped pulses.
