Trends in recurrence analysis of dynamical systems

Norbert Marwan et al.

Summary: The past decade has seen significant advancements in improving recurrence plot-based data analysis and expanding its application potential. These include computational enhancements, alternative recurrence definitions, parameter selection strategies, theoretical considerations of recurrence quantification measures, new recurrence quantifiers for transition and causality detection, and correction schemes. Combining recurrence plots with machine learning has also opened up new perspectives for research. This article concludes with open questions and future directions for methodical research.

Numerical evidence of superuniversality of the two-dimensional and three-dimensional random quantum Potts models

Valentin Anfray et al.

Summary: Numerical studies of the random q-state quantum Potts model on hypercubic lattices in dimensions 2 and 3 show that the critical exponents are compatible within error bars when q-dependent scaling corrections are taken into account, indicating the superuniversality of all two- and three-dimensional random Potts models.
