Contrastive Adversarial Domain Adaptation Networks for Speaker Recognition

Longxin Li et al.

Summary: In this article, a contrastive adversarial domain adaptation network (CADAN) is proposed to address the difficulty of finding domain-invariant space in a single feature extractor. By splitting the feature extractor into two branches, CADAN achieves class-dependence and domain-invariance simultaneously. Evaluation experiments demonstrate that CADAN outperforms conventional methods in terms of speaker identification accuracy.

Diversity in spatial frequency, temporal frequency, and speed tuning across mouse visual cortical areas and layers

Helen Wang et al.

Summary: The mouse visual system consists of various cortical areas specialized for different visual features and tasks. Previous studies mainly focused on the tuning preferences of superficial layer neurons, while fewer studies investigated the deep-layer neurons in these areas. In this study, the researchers used electrophysiology and calcium imaging to characterize the tuning properties of different layer 5 cell classes in these areas. They found that deep-layer neurons, similar to superficial layer neurons, are specialized for different spatial and temporal frequencies.
