Promotion of the performance of Cu-SSZ-13 for selective catalytic reduction of NOx by ammonia in the presence of SO2 during high temperature hydrothermal aging

Xin Yong et al.

Summary: The presence of SO2 during high temperature hydrothermal aging enhances the activity of Cu-SSZ-13 at 700 and 800 degrees C, without affecting framework Al. The interaction of Cu2+ with SO2 helps suppress Cu2+ aggregation into CuO, leading to higher activity at high temperatures.

Unexpected increase in low-temperature NH3-SCR catalytic activity over Cu-SSZ-39 after hydrothermal aging

Jinpeng Du et al.

Summary: The study reveals that after hydrothermal aging, Cu-SSZ-39 showed a remarkable increase in low-temperature NH3-SCR catalytic activity, attributed to the transformation of Cu2+ ions into CuxOy species facilitating the production of nitrate species critical for the catalytic process.

Potassium-directed sustainable synthesis of new high silica small-pore zeolite with KFI structure (ZJM-7) as an efficient catalyst for NH3-SCR reaction

Shichao Han et al.

Summary: Inspired by high throughput calculations, a new high silica small pore zeolite with KFI structure (Si/Al > 5, designated as ZJM-7) was successfully prepared in the presence of K+. Interestingly, even after hydrothermal treatment at 850 degrees C for 12 h, Cu-ZJM-7 catalyst still shows excellent performance in the NH3-SCR reaction. The combination of sustainable synthesis and excellent catalytic properties of ZJM-7 zeolite might provide a good opportunity for developing highly efficient and low-cost SCR catalysts in the future.

Fabrication of AEI-type aluminosilicate catalyst with sheet-like morphology for direct conversion of propene to butenes

Ryota Osuga et al.

Summary: The sheet-like AEI-type aluminosilicate zeolites synthesized by the CGI-assisted method showed improved catalytic performance in the direct conversion of propene to butenes compared to conventional samples. The sheet-like morphology enhanced molecular diffusivity and led to a higher selectivity for iso-butene. Additionally, the distribution of Bronsted acid sites could be controlled by increasing the external surface area from the sheet-like particles.
