Calculation of Thermodynamic Characteristics and Sound Velocity for Two-Dimensional Yukawa Fluids Based on a Two-Step Approximation for the Radial Distribution Function

Ilnaz I. I. Fairushin et al.

Summary: We propose a simple two-step approximation method to calculate the radial distribution function of a one-component two-dimensional Yukawa fluid. This method depends on the coupling parameter and screening parameter of the system. Based on this approximation, we obtain analytical expressions for thermodynamic quantities such as internal energy, internal pressure, excess entropy in the two-particle approximation, and longitudinal sound velocity. The theoretical results show good agreement with the results obtained using the true radial distribution function.

One-component plasma of a million particles via angular-averaged Ewald potential: A Monte Carlo study

G. S. Demyanov et al.

Summary: In this study, a correct expression for the one-component plasma energy is derived using the angular-averaged Ewald potential. The derived potential shows significant advantages in large-scale numerical simulations, offering a unified approach for determining the thermodynamic limit.

Self-consistent relaxation theory of collective ion dynamics in Yukawa one-component plasmas under intermediate screening regimes

Anatolii Mokshin et al.

Summary: The self-consistent relaxation theory is used to describe the collective ion dynamics in strongly coupled Yukawa plasmas. The theory is able to accurately predict various experimental characteristics of the equilibrium collective dynamics of ions without using any adjustable parameters. This study demonstrates the key idea of statistical mechanics that the interparticle interaction potential and structural characteristics are sufficient for describing collective particle dynamics in equilibrium fluids.

Transition in the supercritical state of matter: Review of experimental evidence

C. Cockrell et al.

Summary: The largely unexplored region above the critical point in the phase diagram has seen challenges to the traditional belief of physical homogeneity in supercritical matter. The proposal of the Frenkel line as a unique way to separate supercritical states into distinct qualitative states has gained supporting experimental evidence.

Electrostatic energy of Coulomb crystals with polarized electron background

A. A. Kozhberov et al.

Summary: The electrostatic properties of Coulomb crystals in neutron stars and white dwarfs were studied, taking into account electron polarization and different structure formations. The results showed that different lattice structures may form the ground state at varying densities, with RPA corrections strongly affecting phase boundaries.
