Schmidt decomposition of parity adapted coherent states for symmetric multi-quDits

Julio Guerrero et al.

Summary: In this paper, we investigate the entanglement properties of symmetric N-quDit systems. We utilize generalizations to U(D) of spin U(2) coherent states and analyze their reduced density matrices when M < N quDits are traced out. The eigenvalues of these reduced density matrices are fully characterized, and a theorem is proven for the decomposition of a N-quDit Schrodinger cat state with a given parity into a sum over all possible parities of tensor products of Schrodinger cat states. Various asymptotic properties of the Schmidt eigenvalues are studied, and the entanglement and decoherence properties of these states under quDit loss are demonstrated.

Transmon platform for quantum computing challenged by chaotic fluctuations

Christoph Berke et al.

Summary: In this study, the stability of quantum processors developed by IBM, Delft, and Google consortia is investigated using the techniques of many-body localization theory. The results show that some of these platforms are dangerously close to an uncontrollable chaotic phase, highlighting the need for a balance between intentional disorder and nonlinear resonator coupling to avoid chaotic instabilities.

Exciton transport in molecular organic semiconductors boosted by transient quantum delocalization

Samuele Giannini et al.

Summary: The exciton diffusion in molecular materials is crucial for the performance of organic optoelectronic devices. This study presents a method to propagate excitons through nano-scale materials and reveals a correlation between diffusion constant and quantum delocalization of the exciton. The findings provide insights for improving exciton transport in organic optoelectronic materials.

Quantum chaos in triangular billiards

Crt Lozej et al.

Summary: An extensive numerical study was conducted on the spectral statistics and eigenfunctions of quantized triangular billiards. Different cases of triangular billiards show varying degrees of agreement with the Gaussian orthogonal ensemble of random matrix theory, extending the quantum chaos conjecture to systems with dynamical mixing in the absence of hard chaos.

Entanglement and U(D)-spin squeezing in symmetric multi-quDit systems and applications to quantum phase transitions in Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick D-level atom models

Manuel Calixto et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the U(D) symmetry generated by collective spin operators for symmetric multi-quDit systems, and generalizations of SU(2)-spin coherent states to arbitrary D. It explores the adaptation of these states to parity and multi-mode extensions, as well as the evaluation of entanglement in these systems using level and particle entanglement and entropies. The study also delves into numerical and variational analyses of ground states in specific models, and proposes an extension of SU(2)-spin squeezing to SU(D) for pairwise D-level atom entanglement characterization.

Avoided crossings and dynamical tunneling close to excited-state quantum phase transitions

D. J. Nader et al.

Summary: Using the Wehrl entropy, the study focuses on the delocalization in phase space of energy eigenstates near avoided crossings in the Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model. It is observed that avoided crossings originate from classical pairs of trajectories in different phase-space regions as coupling parameters change. An abrupt increase in the Wehrl entropy for eigenstates near avoided crossings close to the critical energy of the excited-state quantum phase transition is detected, indicating an enhancement of dynamical tunneling and breaking of the quantum-classical correspondence in the evolution of observables.

Quantum localization measures in phase space

D. Villasenor et al.

Summary: Measuring the degree of localization of quantum states in phase space is complicated and involves various methods, none of which are unique. In unbounded spaces, defining maximal delocalization requires a bounded reference subspace, with different selections leading to different outcomes.

Role of mixed permutation symmetry sectors in the thermodynamic limit of critical three-level Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick atom models

Manuel Calixto et al.

Summary: This paper introduces the concept of mixed symmetry quantum phase transition, using a three-level Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model with U(3) dynamical symmetry to illustrate it. The study shows that precursors of MSQPTs appear in all permutation symmetry sectors, and a fourfold degeneracy is observed in the ground state due to the spontaneous breakdown of the parity symmetry.
