Oral Meloxicam Administration in Sows at Farrowing and Its Effects on Piglet Immunity Transfer and Growth

Summary: This study explored the effects of oral meloxicam on piglet weight gain and immune transfer during farrowing. Piglets from the meloxicam group showed faster growth rates, with improvements in growth for low birth weight piglets. Sows in the meloxicam group had higher IgA and IgG levels in colostrum, and piglets in this group had significantly higher IgA levels in serum compared to control group.
