Association of metformin exposure with low risks of frailty and adverse outcomes in patients with diabetes

Pan Liu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the association between metformin use and frailty in diabetic patients. It found that metformin use was associated with a reduced risk of frailty, but this protective effect was attenuated in frail participants.

Nitrotyrosine, Nitrated Lipoproteins, and Cardiovascular Dysfunction in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes: What Do We Know and What Remains to Be Explained?

Grzegorz K. Jakubiak et al.

Summary: Diabetes mellitus is closely associated with cardiovascular diseases, and the nitration of lipoproteins, especially high-density lipoprotein, may play an important role in the development of cardiovascular dysfunction. However, further research is needed to fully understand this relationship.

Association between circulating oxidized OxLDL/LDL-C ratio and the severity of coronary atherosclerosis, along with other emerging biomarkers of cardiovascular disease in patients with type 2 diabetes

Lei Xu et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the association between circulating oxLDL/LDL-C ratio and the severity of coronary atherosclerosis, along with other emerging biomarkers of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in patients with type 2 diabetes. The results showed that the oxLDL/LDL-C ratio was positively associated with the severity of coronary atherosclerosis, and IL33 correlated positively with oxLDL/LDL-C ratio. VCAM-1 had similar trends with oxLDL/LDL-C ratio in different groups.

Relationship Between High Glycated Hemoglobin and Severity of Coronary Artery Disease in Type II Diabetic Patients Hospitalized With Acute Coronary Syndrome

Fahad R. Khan et al.

Summary: The study identified a relationship between high HbA1c levels and the severity of coronary artery disease in diabetic patients, with high HbA1c being associated with severe CAD. Further research with a larger sample size is needed to evaluate the deeper impact of HbA1c on coronary arteries.
