The bromodifluoromethylation of heteroaromatics (benzofuran, benzo[b]thiophene, and 2H-chromen-2-one) with sodium bromodifluoromethanesulfinate (BrCF2SO2Na) was developed. This reaction proceeded smoothly at room temperature to afford the bromodifluoromethylated products in moderate to high yields. (C) 2016 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
