Effective atomic number and mass attenuation coefficient of PbO-BaO-B2O3 glass system

Gamma-rays attenuation coefficient, half-value layer, mean free path, effective atomic number and electron density have been measured in glass system of xPbO-(50-x) BaO-50B(2)O(3) (where 5 <= x <= 45 mol%) for gamma ray photon energies of 0.356, 0.662,1.173 and 1.33 MeV. The emitted gamma ray was detected by 3 x 3 in. NaI(Tl) scintillation gamma ray spectrometers. The results were found in good agreement with the theoretical values which calculated from WinXcom.
