Room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) emission was achieved by host-guest recognition between gamma-cyclodextrin (gamma-CD) and a 4-bromo-1,8-naphthalic anhydride (BrNpA) polymer (poly-BrNpA), which can be controlled by the photo-isomerization of the azobenzene (Azo) unit of the other polymer (poly-Azo) in aqueous solution.
