A new fossil species of the saucer bug genus Ilyocoris (Heteroptera, Naucoridae) from the Upper Miocene maar paleolake of la Montagne d'Andance (France)

The naucorid Ilyocoris andancensis sp. nov., first Miocene representative of its genus, is described on the basis of three compressed mummies found in the maar diatom paleolake of 'La Montagne d'Andance' (Ardeche, France). This new species differs from other extant and fossil representatives of the genus by the pattern of coloration of the abdomen and pronotum. The systematic positions of the other fossil taxa previously considered as Naucoridae are discussed.
