Comparative effectiveness and risk of preterm birth of local treatments for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and stage IA1 cervical cancer: a systematic review and network meta-analysis

Antonios Athanasiou et al.

Summary: This systematic review and network meta-analysis aimed to determine the risks of treatment failure and preterm birth associated with various treatment techniques for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN). The findings suggest that more radical excisional techniques reduce the risk of treatment failure but increase the risk of subsequent preterm birth. Ablative treatments probably do not increase the risk of preterm birth but are associated with higher failure rates than excisional techniques.

Difference-in-Differences with multiple time periods

Brantly Callaway et al.

Summary: This article discusses identification, estimation, and inference procedures for treatment effect parameters using the Difference-in-Differences (DiD) method, which is applicable to multiple time periods, variation in treatment timing, and when the parallel trends assumption holds potentially only after conditioning on observed covariates. The proposed methods allow for highlighting treatment effect heterogeneity across different dimensions and summarizing the overall effect of participating in the treatment.
