Towards electrochemical surface plasmon resonance sensor based on the molecularly imprinted polypyrrole for glyphosate sensing

Domas Balciunas et al.

Summary: This research utilized molecular imprinting technology to create a glyphosate-sensitive layer for an electrochemical surface plasmon resonance (ESPR) sensor. The study revealed the restrictions and challenges encountered during the development of glyphosate ESPR sensor using molecularly imprinted polymer. It was found that glyphosate interfered with the deposition process of the polymer, but the problem was partially overcome by using a self-assembled monolayer before deposition. The dissociation constant and free energy of Gibbs values for the glyphosate-MIPpy interaction were calculated.

Development of molecularly imprinted polymer based phase boundaries for sensors design (review)

Simonas Ramanavicius et al.

Summary: Achievements in polymer chemistry have enabled the design of artificial phase boundaries through the modification of selected molecules and larger structures. These structures have proven to be useful for the development of new materials suitable for affinity chromatography and sensors. This review provides an overview of the synthesis of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) and their applicability in the design of affinity sensors. The use of conducting polymers, such as polypyrrole, polyaniline, and polythiophene, shows promising capabilities for molecular imprinting. The review also discusses methods for the synthesis of conducting polymer-based MIPs and the challenges and trends in MIP technology.

Electrochemical sensors based on L-tryptophan molecularly imprinted polypyrrole and polyaniline

Vilma Ratautaite et al.

Summary: The aim of this study was to compare the application of two different conducting polymers, polypyrrole and polyaniline, in the design of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs). The results showed that polypyrrole had a higher affinity for L-tryptophan and was more suitable for the design of MIP-based sensors for the detection of L-tryptophan.

Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy Microsensor Based on Molecularly Imprinted Chitosan Film Grafted on a 4-Aminophenylacetic Acid (CMA) Modified Gold Electrode, for the Sensitive Detection of Glyphosate

Fares Zouaoui et al.

Summary: A novel EIS microsensor was developed for the detection of traces of glyphosate in real and synthetic water samples. The sensor showed good correlation with GLY concentration in the range of 0.31 x 10(-9) to 50 x 10(-6) mg/mL, with a detection limit of 1 fg/mL. It also exhibited good reproducibility and repeatability, making it a promising tool for glyphosate detection in river water.

Highly Sensitive and Selective Eco-Toxic 4-Nitrophenol Chemical Sensor Based on Ag-Doped ZnO Nanoflowers Decorated with Nanosheets

Ahmad Umar et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel sensing electrode was developed for detecting 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) toxicity, using Ag-doped-ZnO nanoflowers synthesized via a simple hydrothermal method. The electrode demonstrated high sensitivity and selectivity under optimized conditions, showing linear detection of nitrophenol concentrations and good sensing stability. The results suggest that the Ag-ZnO/GCE electrode could be a promising sensor for 4-NP detection.
