Immune-Onco-Microbiome: A New Revolution for Gynecological Cancers

Chiara Di Tucci et al.

Summary: Despite advances in understanding gynaecological cancers, they are still widespread. Recent research suggests a link between microbiota and cancer, particularly in relation to the immune system. Microbiome diversity can impact carcinogenesis and immune response in patients, influencing inflammatory cascade and adverse events. This review examines microbiome alterations in gynaecological tumour patients and explores how understanding the microbiome-cancer-immunity connection can inform the management of these cancers.

Association of Microbial Dysbiosis with Gallbladder Diseases Identified by Bile Microbiome Profiling

Seong Ji Choi et al.

Summary: The study found that the predominant dysbiotic bacteria in chronic cholecystitis and gallbladder cancer belong to the Enterobacteriaceae family, with Klebsiella increasing significantly. Patients with chronic cholecystitis and dysbiotic microbiome patterns had larger gallstones and showed marked epithelial atypia, which are considered precancerous conditions. Our findings suggest a possible link between a dysbiotic bile microbiome and the development of chronic calculous cholecystitis and gallbladder cancer.
