Effectiveness of technology-based interventions on psychological morbidities, quality of life for informal caregivers of stroke survivors: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of technology-based interventions in reducing psychological morbidities and improving quality of life and self-efficacy in informal caregivers of stroke survivors. Results showed beneficial effects in alleviating depressive symptoms among caregivers, but no significant effects on anxiety, burden, quality of life and self-efficacy outcomes. Further research is needed to understand sustainability, optimal format and dosage of intervention.

Caregiver contribution to self-care and its associated variables among caregivers of ostomy patients: Results of a cross-sectional study

Summary: This study aimed to describe caregiver contribution to ostomy self-care and identify associated variables. The results showed that employed caregivers and those who contribute more hours per week were associated with lower contribution to self-care maintenance. Caregivers with lower education levels and those residing with the patient were less likely to contribute to self-care monitoring, while spousal caregivers and those with higher preparedness contributed significantly lower to self-care management.

Systematic Review of the Evidence for Stroke Family Caregiver and Dyad Interventions

Summary: This review examined the impact of stroke family caregiver and dyad interventions on stroke survivor and family caregiver outcomes. The results showed mixed findings, with only a few studies reporting significant survivor outcomes and most reporting significant caregiver outcomes, particularly in terms of burden. Further well-designed and well-powered randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm the efficacy of these interventions.

Spanish Version of the Caregiver Contribution to Self-Care of Heart Failure Index (CC-SCHFI): A Psychometric Evaluation

A survey of caregiver burden for stroke survivors in non-teaching hospitals in Western China

Summary: This study examines the relationship between social support, self-efficacy, and caregiver burden among caregivers of stroke survivors in China. The findings indicate that caregivers with higher levels of social support and self-efficacy are more likely to experience less burden. Additionally, the caregivers' age, daily care time, self-rated health, and financial situation are significantly related to their burden, social support, and self-efficacy.

Preventing recurrence and increasing awareness and adherence to hypertension treatment are key goals in Asia.

Low-income countries had the highest stroke-related mortality and DALY rates, with high body-mass index being the fastest-growing risk factor.
