ISRO has launched the EOS-4 SAR satellite for all-weather imaging in various applications. This study focuses on generating a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) using the EOS-4 interferometric data from Alwar, Rajasthan, India. It is the first study to evaluate the feasibility of EOS-4 for SAR Interferometry (InSAR) and demonstrates successful DEM generation through SAR interferometric processing algorithms.
ISRO recently launched the EOS-4 SAR satellite which is designed to provide images under all weather conditions for various applications. This paper reports on the generation of the Digital Elevation Model (DEM) from the EOS-4 interferometric pair of Alwar, Rajasthan, India. This is the first study on the feasibility of EOS-4 for SAR Interferometry (InSAR). The study finds that there exists proper coherency between the EOS-4 InSAR pair and the DEM has been generated through SAR interferometric processing algorithms which include Coregistration, Interferogram generation, Baseline estimation, Flattening of Interferogram, Phase unwrapping, Phase to height (DEM) conversion and Geocoding of DEM.
