This article presents new data on the distribution of several alien species of weevil beetles in the European part of Russia. It reports the first populations found in Moscow of Otiorhynchus porcatus, O. asphaltinus, O. pseudonothus, and Pholicodes inauratus. It also documents the first sightings of the North American species Lignyodes bischoffi in the Republic of Crimea, Krasnodar krai, Kursk oblast, and Moscow; Orchestes steppensis in the Republic of Dagestan; and O. sulcatus in Pskov and Tver oblasts. Furthermore, it observes a significant increase in the secondary range of Polydrusus formosus in Moscow oblast in recent years.
This article presents new data on the distribution of a number of alien species of weevil beetles in the European part of Russia. Populations of Otiorhynchus porcatus (Herbst, 1795), O. asphaltinus Germar, 1823, O. pseudonothus Apfelbeck, 1897, and Pholicodes inauratus Boheman, 1833 have been found in Moscow for the first time. The species of North American origin Lignyodes bischoffi (Blatchley, 1916) has been recorded in the Republic of Crimea, Krasnodar krai, Kursk oblast, and Moscow for the first time; Orchestes steppensis Korotyaev, 2016 has been found in the Republic of Dagestan; and O. sulcatus (Fabricius, 1775) has been found in Pskov and Tver oblasts for the first time. A dramatic increase in the secondary range of Polydrusus formosus (Mayer, 1779) in Moscow oblast has been observed in recent years.
