Suicide among Health Care Professionals-An Indian Perspective

Academic stress is the primary cause of suicides among medical students and professionals in India, with contributing factors including long working hours, hunger, inadequate rest, and knowledge of lethal suicide methods. Preventive measures such as stress-management workshops, mental health check-ups, and telehealth services are important in reducing suicides.

The relationship between workload and burnout among nurses: The buffering role of personal, social and organisational resources

Summary: This study investigated the buffering role of resources on the relationship between workload and burnout among nurses, finding that nurses with workplace commitment, a good working team, and recognition from their supervisor conveyed a weaker association between workload and burnout. Additionally, spending excessive time on palliative care was associated with burnout among nurses. The study indicates a potential impact of the extent of palliative care on nurse burnout, deserving consideration in future research.
