Summary: This study focuses on exploring the authenticity and historical value of the Epistulae ad Caesarem, suggesting that they could have been written in the middle of the first century BCE and that Sallust could be the author. The letters reveal alternative political agendas, providing insight into Sallust as a politician and historian, as well as the political debate surrounding the outbreak of the civil war and Caesar's rule.
