Summary: Despite existing research on missing value distribution and imputation, there is limited literature on making the handling, exploration, and imputation of missing values easier. This paper addresses this gap by introducing a new methodology that incorporates missing value handling as a key component of data analysis workflows. The methodology includes a new data structure and set of operations that provide a connected framework for handling, exploring, and imputing missing values. These methods are implemented in the R package naniar.

Determinants of a decline in a nutrition risk measure differ by baseline high nutrition risk status: targeting nutrition risk screening for frailty prevention in the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA)

Summary: This study identified the determinants of a 3-year decline in nutrition risk for older adults stratified by risk status at baseline. Different factors were associated with the change in nutrition risk for those with no risk and those who were already at high risk, suggesting the need for targeted approaches in screening and treatment of nutrition risk in primary care.

Social Network Factors Affect Nutrition Risk in Middle-Aged and Older Adults: Results from the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging

Summary: This study used data from the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging to examine the association between social network, demographic, and health-indicator variables with SCREEN-8 scores. The results indicated that individuals with low social participation, low social standing, and low social support had higher nutrition risk. These findings suggest the importance of proactive screening for nutrition risk in individuals with low social engagement, as well as the need for interventions to increase social participation and support in order to reduce nutrition risk prevalence.

Consensus-Based Nutrition Care Pathways for Hospital-to-Community Transitions and Older Adults in Primary and Community Care

Social isolation trajectories in midlife and later-life: patterns and associations with health

Summary: This study examined trajectories of both objective and subjective social isolation and identified four patterns of social isolation. The results showed a gradient in health outcomes across these patterns, with the rare objective and low subjective isolation group having the best health outcomes and the severe isolation group having the worst health outcomes.
