Summary: African immigrants in the United States experience disparities in HIV incidence and have low adoption rates of Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). Interviews with Ghanaian immigrants revealed barriers to PrEP adoption, such as low HIV knowledge, fear of social judgment, and cultural values. Strategies to overcome these barriers, including comprehensive education on HIV and PrEP, were identified.
