Roles and research foci of artificial intelligence in language education: an integrated bibliographic analysis and systematic review approach

Results show that the main areas of focus in AILEd research are writing, reading, and vocabulary acquisition. However, higher-order thinking skills, complex problem solving, critical thinking ability, and collaborative learning tendencies are often overlooked in AILEd studies.
