Rapeseed Morpho-Physio-Biochemical Responses to Drought Stress Induced by PEG-6000

Maria Batool et al.

Summary: This study provides a comparative analysis of 24 rapeseed cultivars under drought conditions, revealing their potential for drought tolerance and the mechanisms involved. It was found that tolerant cultivars exhibited higher efficiency in enzymatic and osmoregulatory mechanisms compared to sensitive cultivars. Results also showed that JYZ 158 and FY 520 cultivars had higher drought tolerance and could be important germplasm resources for breeding drought-tolerant rapeseed.

Interactive effect of shade and PEG-induced osmotic stress on physiological responses of soybean seedlings

Muhammad Ahsan Asghar et al.

Summary: This study found that soybean seedlings were significantly affected by water content and plant growth parameters under PEG-induced osmotic stress, while also promoting the accumulation of osmoprotectants, reactive oxygen species, and antioxidant enzymes. Seedlings grown under non-shading conditions produced more malondialdehyde and hydrogen peroxide content compared to those treated with shading under PEG-induced osmotic stress.

Response Mechanism of Plants to Drought Stress

Xinyi Yang et al.

Summary: With global climate anomalies and the destruction of ecological balance, water scarcity has become a serious ecological problem, making drought a key constraint in agricultural development. This study examines the effects of drought stress on plant morphology and physiology, signal transduction pathways, and genes related to drought stress, providing valuable background knowledge for future agricultural and forestry breeding.

Land suitability analysis for maize production in Indonesia using satellite remote sensing and GIS-based multicriteria decision support system

Muhammad Iqbal Habibie et al.

Summary: Maize was identified as a potential crop for self-sufficiency in the drought prone areas of East Java, Indonesia. Using spatial and remote sensing data, highly suitable lands for sustainable maize production were determined, with a majority of the land being highly suitable. The study recommends the use of satellite remote sensing, GIS, and AHP-based multicriteria analysis for selecting suitable lands to increase maize production.
