Modeling the response of ecological service value to land use change through deep learning simulation in Lanzhou, China

Jiamin Liu et al.

Summary: The study simulated LU changes in Lanzhou city under different scenarios in 2030 using a novel deep learning method. The results showed that the trend of ESV in arid areas differs from that in humid coastal areas, with forest land and water being the main factors affecting ESV change. The EPD scenario was found to be more suitable for sustainable urban development.

A novel CNN-LSTM-based approach to predict urban expansion

Wadii Boulila et al.

Summary: Time-series remote sensing data is utilized for predicting urban expansion, where an unsupervised image segmentation method based on deep learning is used to generate ground truth for training and validation. The ConvLSTM based model provides better prediction results compared to Pix2pix and Dual GAN networks, with lower training time.

Quantifying effects of spatiotemporal changes of urban and green areas on regional climate change: South Korean cities from the 1980s to the 2010s

Changyeon Lee

Summary: This study uses four decades of data to investigate the effects of urban and green areas on temperature and heatwave days in South Korean cities. Larger urban areas are associated with higher temperatures and heatwave days, while larger green spaces are associated with lower temperatures. The impact of urban and green areas is more significant in highly populous cities, and random effects like global climate change have a greater influence on heatwave days than urban areas.
