Adolescent transport and unintentional injuries: a systematic analysis using the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019

Summary: The study reports trends in injury-related mortality and morbidity among adolescents aged 10-24 years over the past three decades. In 2019, transport and unintentional injuries combined accounted for a significant number of deaths and DALYs among adolescents. While global mortality rates for both types of injuries declined, there was an increase in deaths in low-SDI countries. In high-SDI countries, there was a reduction in transport injury DALYs but little change in unintentional injury DALYs from 2010 to 2019.

Self-regulation and tailgating behaviours among young drivers

Summary: Young drivers aged 17 to 25 are more likely to engage in tailgating behavior, which has been attributed to a significant number of rear-end crashes. This study utilizes self-determination theory to understand the self-regulation behind tailgating among young drivers, and the results suggest that external and internal regulation, as well as aggressive driving traits, play a role in predicting the frequency of tailgating behavior.

Identifying best practices in a process evaluation of a novice driver education program
