Associations between relationship status and mental well-being in different life phases from young to middle adulthood

Summary: This study aimed to assess the relationship between relationship status and mental well-being across various stages of the life course, and to determine if relationship quality played a role in moderating these associations. It found that being single or divorced/widowed were consistently associated with poorer mental well-being compared to marriage, especially among men. The study also highlighted the importance of considering different relationship statuses in understanding mental health outcomes in contemporary society.
