A CO2-Responsive Imidazole-Functionalized Fluorescent Material Mediates Cancer Chemotherapy

Vo Thuy Thien Ngan et al.

Summary: We have successfully synthesized a functional gas-responsive material as a potent anticancer agent for cancer treatment. By treating the material with carbon dioxide, it can dissolve in water and form self-assembled nanoparticles that show strong cytotoxicity against cancer cells while having no effect on normal cells. This innovative system can greatly improve the selectivity, safety, and efficacy of cancer treatment.
