Data-Driven Prognostic Scheme for Bearings Based on a Novel Health Indicator and Gated Recurrent Unit Network

Qing Ni et al.

Summary: This article proposes a systematic prognostic scheme for rolling element bearings, which infers the degradation progression by developing a novel health indicator (HI). The proposed HI reflects the changes in the probability distribution of all cyclic power-spectra and eliminates random fluctuations for accurate prediction of remaining useful life (RUL). The scheme is integrated with a gated recurrent unit network and Bayesian optimization algorithm to establish an intelligent prognosis model with high prediction accuracy and generalization ability.

Dynamic Simulation Model-Driven Fault Diagnosis Method for Bearing under Missing Fault-Type Samples

Junqing Ma et al.

Summary: This paper proposes an intelligent fault diagnosis method based on a dynamic simulation model and WGAN-GN. The simulation signals are used to replace missing fault samples and combined with measured signals for training data input into the proposed WGAN-GN model to expand and enhance the data. The effectiveness of the simulated samples is tested using a fault classification model constructed by stacked autoencoders (SAE), and the results show that the proposed model performs well in diagnosing faults under missing samples and outperforms other methods.

MMFSL: A Novel Multimodal Few-Shot Learning Framework for Fault Diagnosis of Industrial Bearings

Lan Cheng et al.

Summary: This article proposes a multimodal few-shot learning method (MMFSL) for unbalanced data modeling of industrial bearings. MMFSL can handle time-series data and images, and evaluate the quality of the generated data. Through experiments, the MMFSL model can significantly improve fault detection accuracy and reduce false alarm rate. Moreover, the fault classification model accuracy is also improved compared to the original datasets.

Joint decision-making of parallel machine scheduling restricted in job-machine release time and preventive maintenance with remaining useful life constraints

Xinxin He et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on the correlation between the remaining useful life, job-machine release time and maintenance duration with machine enlistment age in parallel machine scheduling problem. A mixed integer programming model is constructed to minimize makespan and processing loss beyond RUL threshold, with a teaching and learning based optimization algorithm used to solve this NP-hard problem. The fault mode-assisted gated recurrent unit (FGRU) life prediction method is proven more accurate than three common methods, and joint decision-making is shown to effectively reduce time cost for manufacturing enterprises through benchmark cases.

Multiscale Monitoring Using Machine Learning Methods: New Methodology and an Industrial Application to a Photovoltaic System

Hanen Chaouch et al.

Summary: In this study, a multiscale monitoring method for nonlinear processes was developed using a machine learning tool based on kernel PCA and discrete wavelet transform. The proposed method decomposes multivariate data into wavelet coefficients and applies kernel PCA for defect detection. It combines multiscale analysis and kernel PCA to monitor nonlinear processes by considering only the scales with prediction errors exceeding control limits in the data reconstruction phase.

Few shot cross equipment fault diagnosis method based on parameter optimization and feature mertic

Hongfeng Tao et al.

Summary: With the rapid development of industrial informatization and deep learning technology, modern data-driven fault diagnosis methods based on deep learning have attracted attention from the industry. However, the scarcity of fault samples in actual industrial environments and cross-domain problems between different devices limit the development of these methods. This paper proposes a model unknown matching network model for fault diagnosis with few samples, which combines parameter optimization and feature metric to address these limitations and achieves promising results in experiments.
