Healthy Gut Microbiome Composition Enhances Disease Resistance and Fat Deposition in Tibetan Pigs

Peng Shang et al.

Summary: This study found that the composition and abundance of colonic intestinal microflora in Tibetan pigs were closely related to their superior traits. Bifidobacteria, Ruminococcaceae, and Family-XIII-AD3011-Group are conducive to improving disease resistance in Tibetan pigs, while Lactobacillus and Solobacterium are the main bacterial communities involved in fat deposition in Tibetan pigs.

Comparative characterization of lipids and volatile compounds of Beijing Heiliu and Laiwu Chinese black pork as markers

Jing Li et al.

Summary: Chinese black pork is favored for its unique sensory characteristics, which are influenced by lipids and volatiles. This study revealed differences in lipid and volatile profiles between Duroc x (Landrace x Yorkshire) (DLY), Beijing Heiliu and Laiwu black (BHLB) pork, providing potential markers for discrimination. The results offer insights into the distinctive lipid and volatile profiles of BHLB pork, aiding in the identification of Chinese black pork.
