Porphyrin COF and its mechanical pressing-prepared carbon fiber hybrid membrane for ratiometric detection, removal and enrichment of Cd2+

Wei-Liang Jin et al.

Summary: A nitrogen and oxygen rich covalent organic framework (COF) based on porphyrin molecules is prepared and shown to have high adsorption capacity for Cd2+. The formation of COF increases the porphyrin ring center space, facilitating the coordination of Cd2+ and enabling ratiometric detection. The COF-based membrane prepared on carbon fiber support shows excellent properties for Cd2+ removal and enrichment, with advantages in handling, stability, reusability, and reduced secondary pollution risk. This work demonstrates the potential of porphyrin-based COFs in Cd2+ removal and enrichment applications.

Sponge-supported monolithic materials of porphyrin covalent organic frameworks for selective recognition, convenient removal and extraction of Cd2+

Wei-Liang Jin et al.

Summary: Adsorption is a cheap and energy-efficient method for heavy metal pollution treatment. In this study, hydroxyl-functionalized porphyrin COFs were synthesized and demonstrated to be effective adsorbents for cadmium(II) ion. By growing COFs on the pore walls of dopamine-treated sponges, bulk monolithic materials with faster adsorption kinetics and shorter adsorption equilibrium time were obtained. These materials, known as PS@COFs, showed great potential in practical applications for the removal and detection of heavy metal ions in water and food samples.

Wei Li et al.

Summary: A new method was developed to prepare a highly hierarchical COF (HCOF) containing interconnected macro/meso/microporous channels by using glycine to remove metastable metal-organic framework (MOF). The application potential of HCOF in nontargeted food safety analysis was demonstrated, showing promising results in removing interfering matrix components and achieving full recovery of chemical hazards. This work provides a simple approach to prepare HCOF and highlights its increased specific surface area and aperture utilization compared to pristine COF.

In situ Irradiated XPS Investigation on S-Scheme TiO2@ZnIn2S4 Photocatalyst for Efficient Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction

Libo Wang et al.

Summary: Efficient hierarchical photocatalysts, such as the S-scheme core-shell TiO2@ZnIn2S4 heterojunction, have gained attention for photocatalytic CO2 reduction. The improved performance is attributed to the inhibited recombination of photogenerated charge carriers induced by the S-scheme heterojunction, as well as the large specific surface areas and abundant active sites. In situ irradiated X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, work function calculation, and electron paramagnetic resonance measurements confirm the S-scheme photogenerated charge transfer mechanism.
